Zoom H2N Portable Recorder Review

Its hard to believe that the original Zoom H2 was released all the way back in 2007.However here we are in 2011 with a brand new Zoom H2N.

Instead of completely revamping an obviously winning design and feature Samson decided to just improve upon what was originally there.

Smart move because the new H2N is absolutely brilliant. Not only does in look amazingly sexy in the new all black look but the addition of a few new features like MID-SIDE recording is a first for portable audio recorders. Then go and add Steinberg Wavelab 7 LE and you a very powerful recording solution that should keep you going for years to come. I love my Zoom H2N and I fully recommend it!

The new Zoom H2N has loads of new features. In fact too many for me to go through here. So I'll just go over the few that I think are my favorites:

1. Mid-Side (MS) Recording on top of the original stereo, 90° X/Y stereo, 2-channel and 4-channel recording modes.

2. Sexy awesome new user look and interface.

3. Lo-cut Filter to get rid of rumble in your recordings.

4. Data recovery function protects against unexpected recordings errors like power outs.

5. 20+ hours of operation using just 2 standard AA batteries!

6. Built-in reference speaker.

7. 32GB SDHC memory cards.

8. Includes the incredible Steinberg WaveLab LE 7 editing software.
